We've been using Bill Myers for decades, and he always knows what to do when the heating or AC need repairs. This time he replaced a transformer, and the AC is working again.

He came into my house wearing a mask that was so poorly fitted that it kept slipping below his nose. At one point after he had been outside, he walked in suddenly before I could grab a mask. When I tried to back off, he just kept coming rather than give me a moment to get one. And at the end, he said, "This is such a pain. They should just do what Sweden did, and let everyone get it." I did not feel safe with him in the house. As far as the actual service went, it was hard to judge. He added refrigerant, but said I should have it checked again in the spring because the problem was most likely a cooling coil, which wasn't available during the pandemic. But then when I said it seemed like he wasn't able to fix it, he said that he didn't really know whether it was the cooling coil and the refrigerant could be enough. But of course, if the refrigerant doesn't work, apparently I'm out of options. He also checked the furnace, and said the humidifier needed a new filter. But those were also in short supply, and he had to order them--which of course means a second trip by someone I was nervous to have in my house the first time. As far as costs, he did not give me any idea of the cost before he arrived, or when he decided to add refrigerant to the air conditioner. He did give me the costs in advance for checking the furnace, and for replacing the humidifier filters.
